Letterpress, something I’ve never done although I had the opportunity to whilst at uni… And now I regret I didn’t experience more with typography, screen print, letterpress… Gladly, some people do these stuff and Mark Pavey is one of them. Mark is a freelance designer based in the south of England. Although his main area of work is web design, it’s his graphic design pieces and especially his letterpress works that caught my eye. Seeing these old looking machines with mirrored letters gently transposing ink on paper amazes me. And the result is quite authentic too! I like it probably because I’ve never done it but also because everything is digital or computerised nowadays and that makes it stand out, look really old school, real and true. Hope one day I’ll have the time and the opportunity to do it… And Mark, if one day you read this: keep on doing these nice letters…

Very interested in getting in touch with a contact who I might go and view their wooden poster type. I was apprenticed compositor at Odhams Press in Long Acre in London and for the first six months worked in the Poster Department of the Daily Herald. Great work too on here! Many thanks Allan
