The art of Yoshitomo Nara is quite simple and “childish”, a bit like entering the magically imaginative world of kids. In the lines of Japanese mangas, Yoshitomo emphasises a lot on the eyes of his characteres but not in the details and sparks mangas traditionally use. Yoshitomo Nara was exhibiting last year in the Baltic in Newcastle Gateshead (UK). I had the chance to go to this exhibition and the “world” created there was just magic; entering a village brought to life with Yoshimoto’s paintings.
